The Sound of a Vanishing World is a live performance developed by Jill Zheng (multimodal poetry), Trent Gravelle (poetry/dance), Anderson (musician/singer/guitarist/musical arrangement) and me (installation/drawing/interior design). It was involved in the show Sympoiesis under the FREQS experimental event, which creates a platform for artists from different disciplines to collaborate.

The Sound of a Vanishing World weaves music, dance, installation, poetry and live painting to build a story about a whale. It focuses on the inter-semiotic translation of whale sounds and movements in vocal sounds, graphs, stimulated seascape, and choreography, exploring the art of listening to the non-human world, and the act of participation in the more-than-human world. The audience was invited to join the stage, interact with the performers, and play a role in the progression of the performance.
