Flatlanders  | 

Flatlanders is an ongoing illustration project that evolves in the process of creating visual diaries. It started at the end of 2016 from some simple daily doodles to a collection of refined drawings. The collection consists of figurative drawings predominantly self-portraits, together with still life and abstract patterns. Sketchbooks are the sole media that drawings are delivered, and there is no set theme or rationale or connection behind the content on the pages. The use of technique, colour, perspective, scale, content of each drawing is intuition-directed and independent from pencil markings. Flatlanders is a self-exploratory process in noting down everyday impressions, it treats visual diary as a solitary art form and cherishes the ceaseless artistic endeavour in documenting, expressing, dealing with, contemplating our day-to-day living.
